MADISON T. HAWKINS
WORKERS' COMPENSATION DEFENSE
Madison is an associate in the firm's workers' compensation division. Her practice focuses on state and federal workers' compensation, including concurrent jurisdiction under the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Act and the Longshore & Harbor Workers' Compensation Act.
Madison earned her Bachelors of Science, magna cum laude, from East Carolina University and her Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, Madison earned the CALI award in Legal Research, Analysis & Writing II and Wills, Trusts & Estates. She was a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe and the South Carolina Moot Court Bar. As a member of the Moot Court Bar, Madison was a finalist in the JWL Moot Court Competition and was awarded Best Brief by the Justices of the South Carolina Supreme Court for her submission. Madison was also selected to participate in Fourth Circuit Practice, an intensive four-month class taught by Judge Dennis Shedd of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, during which she successfully presented oral argument before an appellate panel consisting of U.S. District Court and U.S. Court of Appeals judges.
Originally from Hickory, North Carolina, Madison now lives in Charleston with her goldendoodle, Charlie. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, watching sports, and spending time outdoors.
