Timothy is a Partner in the firm’s litigation division, with a practice focusing on on civil defense litigation, primarily insurance defense and construction matters. He is admitted to practice in the State of South Carolina and before the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.

 

Originally from Darlington, South Carolina, Timothy attended high school at Woodberry Forest School in Orange, Virginia. He attended the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee as a Wilkins Scholar, and graduated in 1997 with a B.S. in Forestry, achieving Departmental honors and membership in the Order of Gownsmen, an academic honor society. While at Sewanee, Timothy served as Captain of the Tennis Team and President of the Forestry Club.

 

After attending law school as a Chancellor's Scholar at the University of Denver, he returned to South Carolina in 2003 to serve a two year clerkship in Charleston with the Honorable C. Weston Houck, United States District Judge. In 2005, Timothy went to work at Buist Moore Smythe & McGee, PA in Charleston prior to joining our firm.

 

Timothy is married to the former Laura Melonas from Columbia, South Carolina.
